HL Deb 27 October 1986 vol 481 cc596-7WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What measures they have taken to follow up recent allegations that arms are being illegally exported to Iran by persons working at a 4 Victoria Street, London S.W.1

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Young)

We are well aware of the existence of Iranian procurement offices at 4 Victoria Street, and of the recent allegations in the media of illegal arms trading by persons working there. However, we have so far received no evidence that members of the Iranian procurement offices are violating British laws. If we received such evidence we should naturally ensure that appropriate action was taken.
