Mr. Chope

Staffing issues at Thamesmead are primarily a matter for the London Residuary Body and Thamesmead town, but my Department is being kept informed of progress.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether the terms of transfer of Thamesmead from the London Residuary Body to Thamesmead Town Ltd. have been decided; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

Negotiations are currently taking place between the London Residuary Body and Thamesmead town.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will issue a direction to prevent the sale of development land in Thamesmead following any transfer from the London Residuary Body; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

No. That will be a matter for Thamesmead town to decide.
