HC Deb 21 October 1986 vol 102 c838W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the reason for the withdrawal by his Department of a consultative document on the transfer to the London boroughs of the Greater London Council's industrial and commercial assets by the London Residuary Body; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

Draft guidance to all residuary bodies on property and financial rights and liabilities was revised in the light of my Departments' consultations with residuary bodies, successors, and other interested parties, and was issued on 7 August. There is no question of any consultative document having been withdrawn by my Department.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will issue a direction to the London Residuary Body to require it to transfer the Greater London Council's industrial and commercial assets to the London boroughs.

Mr. Chope
