What is the statutory authority for the ban on the import of bulk iron and steel from South Africa.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Lucas of Chilworth)

The ban has been implemented by amendment to the open general import licence granted under the Import of Goods (Control) Order 1954.
