asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether there is a passage through the Canadian Archipelago which is freely open to international navigation.

Whether all land within the Canadian Archipelago is part of Canada and all waters there are Canadian internal waters.

The United Kingdom recognises Canadian sovereignty over all the land within the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. We are in contact with the Canadian Government about the other issues raised by the noble Lord.
