Mr. Silvester

asked the Paymaster General if he will list initiatives by his Department which have been of benefit specifically to the north-east, north-west and Yorkshire and Humberside regions since 1979.

Mr. Lee

The main employment, training and enterprise measures offered by this Department and the Manpower Services Commission since 1979 have all been available to people in the north-east, north-west and Yorkshire and Humberside regions. The range of measures currently available is described in the "Action for Jobs" booklet. The measures which have operated in the period since 1979 are listed below.
