§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will estimate the total cost to his Department of all preparatory work, both internal and external, and subsequent costs of the Green Paper, "Paying for Local Government" (Cmnd. 9714).
§ Mr. RidleyThe costs attributable to the division in my Department responsible for the Green Paper between 1 November 1984 and 30 September 1986 were £773,100. This includes the cost of salaries, travel and subsistence, stationery, typing, cartographic, printing and computing services.
