asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will support the appeal made by the Iraqi Government for hostilities to cease and negotiations with Iran to begin.

We recognise that the Iraqi Government is willing to accept UNSC Resolution 582 in its entirety if the Iran Government does likewise. We shall continue to urge both sides to implement this resolution, which called for an immediate ceasefire and for co-operation by both sides with the mediation efforts of the Secretary General.
