HC Deb 27 March 1986 vol 94 c624W
Mr. Parry

asked the Paymaster General if he will make a statement on the Secretary of State's recent visit to Liverpool.

Mr. Lang

My right hon. and noble Friend visited Merseyside on 21 March at the invitation of Councillor Neville Goldrein, Leader of the Conservative Group on Merseyside county council. During the morning he met county councillors and representatives of local industry and commerce at an informal reception, and visited Mullard Southport information technology Centre where he was extremely impressed by the standard of training given.

The afternoon's itinerary consisted of a visit to the prestigious Albert Dock complex in Liverpool. My right hon. and noble Friend expressed particular interest in the development's potential for job creation and tourism.
