§ Mr. Bestasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations he has made to the United States of America against its discriminatory taxation of gains made by United States taxpayers on British futures markets.
§ Mr. HowardFollowing written representations in June 1985, I pressed this matter with the United States46W Treasury when I visited Washington in November. I shall continue to urge on all concerned in the United States that the discrimination is incompatible with a commitment to fair competition within a free market structure.
