asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what objectives he has for the Councils of Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers during the period of the United Kingdom presidency of the European Community.

As far as agriculture is concerned, I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave earlier today to my hon. Friend the Member for Holland with Boston (Sir R. Body). On fisheries matters, I will be particularly concerned to ensure that the annual TACs and quota arrangements, the associated third-country agreements and guide prices for 1987 are agreed before the end of the year. I would hope that progress can also be made in the spheres of technical conservation measures and on fisheries structures.
