Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many unemployed persons were registered at the local employment offices of Wales in January; and what were the corresponding figures for each January since 1979.

Consistent figures of claimant unemployment by local employment office areas are available only between October 1982 and August 1985. The figures for January 1983 to 1985 are given in the following tables.
