§ Mr. Gareth Wardellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report those drugs that have been withdrawn during the last five years for safety reasons that have been subsequently prescribed by general medical practitioners.
§ Mr. HayhoeI regret that this information is not available. However, a special exercise carried out in the period January to March 1984 in respect of four withdrawn drugs indicated that 100 prescriptions out of a total of 80 million were for these drugs. I am not aware that the level of prescribing of withdrawn drugs gives any cause for concern.
