HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 c603W
Mr. Thurnham

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about the recent impact on the United Kingdom of the provisions of the Single European Act.

Mrs. Chalker

The Single European Act will not come into force until it has been ratified by all EC member states.

When it does come into force it will represent an important practical step towards enabling this country to realise more fully the benefits of our membership of the European Community.
