asked the Minister for the Arts what steps he is taking to promote wider financial hacking for rural area tours by musical and theatrical companies.

Such support is a matter for the Arts Councils. They already promote tours to many rural areas; and action is in hand to extend these in conjunction with regional arts associations and district and regional councils.
