asked the Minister for the Arts what is the latest information he has about the impact on attendances of museums operating (a) voluntary and (b) compulsory admittance charges.

There is no comprehensive information on this subject. Attendances vary from museum to museum due to a number of factors. It is interesting to observe that at independent museums, the majority of which charge for admission, attendances are generally buoyant.
