asked the Prime Minister what steps she is taking to increase co-ordination between the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Health and Social Security concerning conductive education for severely disabled people; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

Conductive education is the subject of frequent discussion between the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Health and Social Security.

Officials of both Departments are jointly discussing with the Spastics Society a proposed study of current provision and an evaluation of the implications of wider development of conductive education in this country.
