Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many requests for special hardship provision from elderly and disabled residents in private or voluntary care homes who have been in receipt of supplementary benefit since April 1985 have been (a) granted and (b) refused.
§ Mr. NewtonSeventy nine applications have been received for an extension of the transitional protection provisions on the grounds that exceptional hardship would otherwise result. We are currently considering these applications.
