Because the Government are considering inviting tenders from private sector shipyards the estimated cost is commercially confidential. § Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether the Tyneside shipyards will be able to bid for the refit of the royal yacht.
§ Mr. LeeIf the Government decide to invite tenders from commercial shipyards for the refit of HMY Britannia, the invitation will extend to all suitable shipyards in the United Kingdom which meet the necessary standards.
