§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's relations with the new administration in Haiti.
§ Mr. EggarWe have no diplomatic staff resident in Haiti and Her Majesty's ambassador to the country resides in Jamaica. A member of his staff was in Haiti from 30 January until 20 February, when he was in close contact with the British community. He had a brief courtesy meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs on 13 February in company with our locally appointed Haitian vice-consul.
