Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he expects to receive the London university research project report on the policy and implementation of the Education Act 1981; if the report will be available to the general public; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dunn

The report on the research project based at London University Institute of Education is due to be made available to the Department in September 1986. No decision has yet been taken about publication but the findings are expected to be disseminated by the research

(2) if he will give the origin by university affiliation of the members of the grant awarding committees of the Medical Research Council for (a) neurobiology and mental health, (b) cell board A, (c) cell board B, (d) systems board A and (e) systems board B; if he will express these figures as percentages; and if he will make a statement.

These are matters for the Medical Research Council. I have asked the Council to write to the hon. Member.

Mr. Lewis Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give the number and percentage of United Kingdom medical students at (a) London, (b) Oxford and Cambridge, (c) other south, (d) Scotland, (i.e.) northern and (f) other universities; if he will give in this form in numbers and percentage terms the location of Medical Research Council units; if he will give the numbers and percentages for unit staff; if he will give the number and percentage of programme grants; and if he will make a statement.
