§ Mr. Altonasked the Paymaster General what framework there is for consultation between local authorities and his Department concerning the development of local economic initiatives.
§ Mr. Kenneth Clarke[pursuant to his reply, 10 February 1986]: I am anxious that the locally based inner cities initiative which I announced to the House on 6 February should, wherever possible, operate in cooperation and consultation with the local authorities concerned. I hope to meet those local authorities soon to discuss how best to establish the necessary links.
