§ 37. Mr. Phillip Oppenheimasked the Secretary of State for Transport what steps he has taken to seek to secure the abandonment by France, Spain and other member countries of the European Economic Community of motorway charges.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe continue to press for a joint EC approach on motor taxes and motorway tolls, with a view to eliminating distortion of competition and minimising obstacles to the free passage of traffic. We expect the Commission to put forward new proposals shortly.
