HC Deb 16 December 1986 vol 107 c507W
Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total value of grants paid by Her Majesty's Government to the Scottish Transport Group for employing people in the road passenger transport industry, listing such grants to individual transport group subsidiary companies.

Mr. Ancram

I understand from the Scottish Transport Group that it expects to receive a total of around £60,000 in the present calendar year in grants from the Manpower Services Commission arising from the group's participation in the youth training scheme. Most of the young people involved are placed with the Scottish Bus Group Engineering Limited; a more precise breakdown for all Scottish Transport Group subsidiaries is not readily available.
