HC Deb 12 December 1986 vol 107 c253W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what will be the spending of his Department on fees to outside consultants in the current year; and what it was in 1979–80 and each intervening year.

Mr. Hurd

[pursuant to his reply, 19 November 1986, c. 204]: The 1986–87 estimate for payments by the Home Office to outside management and computer consultants is £2,650,000. Equivalent estimates for payments for 1984–85 and 1985–86 were £879,000 and £1,495,000 respectively. These payments include expenses and VAT as well as fees. Separate information on fees alone or for the years prior to 1984–85 is not readily available.
