§ Mr. TrippierThe Manpower Services Commission conducts a regular follow-up survey of young people some three months after they leave the youth training scheme. The latest survey results cover young people who left the scheme during April and May 1985. These show that 80 per cent. of those completing their training in the Leicester local authority district, and 71 per cent. in the east midlands, were in employment. Comparable figures for all leavers were 70 per cent. in the Leicester local authority district and 67 per cent. in the east midlands.
Although these figures only cover a two-month period, they are a clear indication of the advantages and benefits to young people of taking part in the youth training scheme.
