§ 50. Mr. Barnettasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the foreign policy implications of the current debt problems of Latin American and African countries.
§ Mr. RifkindAs my right hon. and learned Friend said on 20 March at column 526 to the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, Central (Mr. Fisher) the Latin American debt problem has led to an intensified dialogue between ourselves and the debtor countries of the area.
As the recent Bonn economic summit declaration noted, we also intend to intensify our co-operation with African countries to help them develop their economic potential.
