§ Mr. Allan StewartProvision for the in-service training of teachers in Scotland is included in local authorities' rate support grant relevant expenditure, but is not separately identified. In addition, my right hon. Friend has recently introduced two schemes of assistance towards the expense of teachers attending approved in-service training; specific grants available under these schemes for the financial years 1984–85 and 1985–86 amounted to £720,000 and £763,000 respectively.
