§ Dr. Godmanasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in connection with the accession of Spain and Portugal to the EEC, there are plans to increase the number of people employed in the European Economic Communities fisheries inspectorate.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe size of this inspectorate is primarily a matter for the European Commission, whose staff the inspectors are. We have impressed upon the Commission the need to ensure that the strength of the inspectorate is adequate to meet the increased demands that will be placed upon it after Spain and Portugal have joined the Community.
