§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what additional funds he proposes to make available for sporting schemes in the Greater London area.
§ Mr. Macfarlane[pursuant to his reply, 25 July 1985]: It will be for London boroughs to assume full responsibility for the provision of sport and recreation in London on 1 April 1986. As already indicated, some additional central funding will be made available, through the Sports Council, for projects, schemes and facilities of wider than local significance. I am at present considering the Sports Council's case for such additional funding and will make an announcement in due course.
