HL Deb 21 January 1985 vol 459 c102WA
Lord Plummer of St Marylebone

asked Her Majesty's Government:

If they are now able to say what arrangements are to be made for the future of the Survey of London once the GLC has been abolished.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (The Earl of Avon)

Responsibility for the Survey of London will pass to the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments. This decision, originally announced in the White PaperStreamlining the Cities (Cmnd 9063), reflects the long and close relationship between the Royal Commission and the Survey of London, which will now continue without disruption.
