HC Deb 09 January 1985 vol 70 c510W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many hospital construction projects undertaken by private contractors have had to be temporarily halted due to strikes and pay claims or to be totally abandoned owing to bankruptcy or liquidation of firms in the past 10 years.

Mr. John Patten

No major hospital construction projects have been totally abandoned in the past ten years because of the bankruptcy or liquidation of private contractors. The number that has been temporarily halted due to strikes and pay claims is not available centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
