asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list all the representations received against any further extension of value added tax on (a) books, (b) newspapers and periodicals and (c) newspaper advertising.

[pursuant to his reply, 25 February 1985, c. 57]: Treasury Ministers have received over 2,000 representations against the imposition of VAT on books, newspapers, periodicals and newspaper advertising. It is not practicable to list all these.
