However it is being gathered in studies in England and Wales which have been commissioned jointly by the Manpower Services Commission, the Department of Employment and the Department of Education and Science. Among the topics348W to be covered the studies will seek information on the further education, employment and training experience of representative national samples of young people reaching minimum school leaving age during the 1983–84 academic year. A similar separate study is being carried out in Scotland. Preliminary results, covering the experience of this cohort up to the spring of 1985, are expected to become available around the end of this year.
