HC Deb 04 February 1985 vol 72 c387W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Prime Minister if Her Majesty's Government have sought outside legal advice as to the comparative validity of the United Kingdom's constitutional and territorial claims to the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, respectively; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

Communications between the Government and legal advisers are confidential and it would not be in accordance with the practice in matters such as this to disclose the source of the advice which the Government have received.

The Government have stated on numerous occasions that they have no doubt about British sovereignty over the Falkland Islands or the Falkland Islands Dependencies.
