§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what provisions he will make for present employees of his Department who will lose their jobs resulting from computerisation of the employment benefit and social security system.
§ Mr. WhitneyWe do not at present anticipate that the computerisation of social security operations will result in any compulsory redundancies. Any staffing implications in the Department of Employment are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.
