§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his response to the publication entitled "Poverty", a copy of which has been sent to him, by the Child Poverty Action Group, on proposals for child benefit improvement in the event of possible direct taxation cuts in the forthcoming budget.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe views expressed in the publication will be considered along with the representations which are usually received by the Government prior to the Budget and prior to the subsequent announcement of the future levels of social security benefits.
