asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give, for each year since 1979 and for each district health authority in Wales, the total number of beds in National Health Service hospitals.

Information relating to the number of hospital beds for each health authority in Wales is published annually in "Bed Use Statistics". A copy of the publication for each of the years 1979 to 1984 is available in the Library.
