HC Deb 02 December 1985 vol 88 cc131-2W
Mrs. Beckett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in each year since its introduction, what has been the saving from the introduction and increase in non-dependants' deductions from housing benefit for young people, showing separately the savings from the changes for 16 and 17-year-olds and from 18 to 20-year-olds; and what would be the cost of reversing these changes in a full year at 1985-86 benefit rates.

Mr. Major

I regret that this information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
