HC Deb 29 November 1984 vol 68 c592W
Mr. Latham

asked the Secretary of State or Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether, during Her Majesty's ambassador to Tunisia's meeting with Yasser Arafat in September, any discussion took place regarding a possible visit by Mr. Arafat to the United Kingdom; and whether, in the course of that meeting, Mr. Adams reminded Mr. Arafat of Her Majesty's Government's policy regarding the recognition of Israel and the abandonment of terrorism by Al-Fatah.

Mr. Luce

Her Majesty's ambassador at Tunis saw Mr. Arafat in mid-September, in accordance with previous practice, for a general introductory talk. We do not disclose details of matters discussed on such occasions.
