§ Mr. Alan ClarkNumbers of new jobs created are not available. Net changes in the number of jobs may be calculated by comparing employment estimates for different dates. The net increase in employment in Great Britain over the 12 months to June 1984—the latest estimate—was 247,000.

§ Mr. Alan ClarkNo information is collected on numbers of jobs created. Net changes in employment are available, but, at county level, only for those dates when censuses of employment are conducted. The latest figures are from the June 1978 and the following September 1981 censuses of employment and show a net change of minus 28,700 employees in Lancashire in that period.
