asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether the Central Electricity Generating Board, or any other of the agencies for which he has responsibility, are engaged in, or plan to engage in, research into laser isotope separation.

Yes, research is being conducted by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority into the separation of uranium isotopes by this method.
