§ Mr. Gordon Brownasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what would be the annual savings in child benefit if the full rate were restricted to families whose joint income is less than £120 a week and if a taper of (a) 10 per cent., (b) 20 per cent., (c) 30 per cent., and (d) 50 per cent., were introduced above that figure; and if he will publish a table showing how many families would lose (i) £1 or less, (ii) £1-£2, (iii) £2-£3 and (iv) £3 or more weekly;
