§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThere are no cash cuts in 1984–85 as a consequence of the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement. I have not yet decided on the allocation to particular services, including local authority housing and urban aid, for 1985–86. I shall make my decisions known in due course.
§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) in what areas of his Department's spending programme he has used his discretion to make allocations of the overall expenditure allocated to his Department which take account of local factors as set out in paragraph 2.24 of the autumn statement; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what are the outline public expenditure plans for Wales for 1985–86; and if he will publish details in the Official Report under each expenditure head in a form comparable with that in the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement indicating spending plans in Wales on agriculture, forestry commission, trade and industry, energy, employment, transport, housing, the urban programme, education and science, arts and libraries, health, personal social services and other areas for which he has responsibility, respectively.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe latest outline public expenditure plans for services within my responsibility will be found in table 2.16 of the 1984 public expenditure White Paper, Cmnd. 9143.
