§ 63. Mr. Higginsasked the Secretary of State for Transport why zig-zag lines indicating that parking is prohibited ahead of pedestrian crossings are not also used ahead of traffic lights.
§ Mr. RidleyThe zig-zag lines at zebra crossings prohibit overtaking as well as parking. It would not be right to prohibit overtaking on the approaches to a junction controlled by traffic lights. Parking prohibitions on the approaches to traffic lights can be indicated by the use of yellow lines.
