Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what war correspondents and from which newspapers were present at the Eternal Triangle exercise held in Germany in 1983; and what was the cost involved of such media presence.

The list of correspondents who took part in Exercise Eternal Triangle in 1983 is as follows. Correspondents used service flights and lived under field conditions during the exercise. The only additional cost incurred, therefore, was on minor losses and wear and tear of uniform and equipment issued to them. This amounted to about £840.
