§ The Prime MinisterEvery Minister in charge of a Department is responsible for the maintenance of standards of protective security within his Department. The particular responsibilities of the Secretary of State for the Home Department in relation to the Security Service are defined in the directive given to the Director General of the Security Service, which was published in paragraph 238 of Cmnd. 2152.
