§ Mr. John Stradling ThomasComprehensive statistics about school leaver trainees in the construction industry are not available. I am, however, informed by the Manpower Services Commission that it plans to have 2,862 youth training scheme places within the construction industry in 1984–85, a figure which reflects its assessments of the level of demand and the prospects for trainees of employment at the end of the programme.
