Mr. Andy Stewartasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give additional money to Nottinghamshire county council to finance the police operations in relation to the recent industrial action in the Nottinghamshire coalfields.
§ Mr. HurdWe will meet 50 per cent. of the additional costs through police grant, which is paid on police expenditure under the Police (Grant) Order 1966. My right hon. and learned Friend is today discussing the problem with representatives of Nottinghamshire authority.
