Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many physically handicapped and disabled people are employed, in what positions, in his Department; and what percentage of the total number of employees this represents.

As at 31 October 1983 the Department employed 1,462.5 registered disabled persons, representing 1.64 per cent. of the total staff employed, in the following grades.
